Malware infected the site, scanned, identified, isolated and site returned to normal service.

The Products carousel on the homepage has broken - this was developed using a legacy piece of tech, which is no longer functional in the latest versions of WordPress - this was conflicting and throwing the whole page out.

We have removed this, so the homepage is one again functional.

This site is a little dated and built within a custom environment from the previous developer using a non-standard Theme, so any updates/patches for that theme are tied to the developer - so we can't fix the root problem to replace that carousel. We'd recommend the client consider a modern, streamlined replacement website when they're able to do so. One that is not built on propreietary technology.

I am not sure what the issue is in that case then - if the emails are reaching the mailbox and the website is sending the emails - there is a non-issue?!

We've been looking into this; it's been something going on for a while now with Borton.

We can only do so much in the theme. When the original site wasn't built with any of this in mind, it makes it very difficult to fix and improve it quickly.

We'll continue to look through and see what can be done. I've updated a few bits, but it'll likely take the report's time to notice - most of the issues raised are very code-focused and aren't entirely fixable; however, we'll keep on looking and improving.

We've managed to sort the issue out temporarily. The server had partially disconnected from the SMTP, but we've hooked it up to one of ours, and the forms should be going through. However, they may get stuck in spam.

I've swapped out the payroll schedule for the new one.

Following the requests from Bianca I've made changes to the spacing and layout on the "what we do page", uploaded the info graphic from their Kern BHRS Page, swapped out their drugfreekern@ email addres and provided a link to their prevention form.

I've updated the email listed on the contact page as well as setting the "Request a Quote" email to the same.

So there is now a Checkbox under both forms, worst-case scenario it'd be best to remove the form on the footer, as it provides instant access to a form upon opening the website.

This was started by the web dev before guys worked with us, but we have access so we'll do our best to pick up any changes to get this wrapped up.

The website had tripped and prevented the PDFs from being downloaded.

This has been fixed and they now work.

I have completed both requests below.

I've managed to jump in and restore the website.

It appears a few plugins when updated cause problems on the site, I'm not sure how it was built but it seems we'll have to pause some of the automatic updates to prevent this from happening again.

I've had a look, but unfortunately, I'm not sure what documents are required on the page.

I couldn't see any posts set to 'Private posts' in order to have them appear on the Tribal Member documents page, as in order to appear they need to be categorised as the above.

By placing the PDF documents into new posts then they should appear on that page.

I've fixed the current website - someone updated the WordPress environment which broke all of the images, and well most of the site.

This was me, sorry. The default one was no longer working.

So it's all good now :D

Seems to be ok right now at least. I can see several entries have been made overnight. There are no errors showing to me on the site.

Will keep this open and maintain an eye on it incase the issue flares up again.

It's likely that several staff members try and submit forms around the same time, the site can't really cope and may crash out.

I've added the PDF to the Marketing tab as a sub-menu item on the menu - I wasn't sure if you required it on the page as a new content row or simply just that.

If you hover over the video and see the play/pause button appear, bottom right should be an options menu. Click that and it should allow you to download the video there?

I've enabled bot protection for the website.

I've also installed and activated another layer of anti-spam protection.

If the problem persists, the website is most likely highly targeted by bots, in which the best case scenario is to simply remove the contact form or purchase a more premium spam protection plugin.

However, depending on how many valuable messages come through the form, will decipher whether that'll be worth it or not.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to this site.

I don't think what she reported as seeing was correct - not to say she's lying... but Google won't index something that quickly. It literally doesn't work that fast, so what she might have seen was one of the previous minutes that were indexed at the time the PDFs were directly uploaded to the website. If she clicks on any of those still indexed links, the files won't show as the file path no longer exists.

The file must not be uploaded to the website whatsoever. It must be saved in a suitable location within their OneDrive or SharePoint file architecture (perhaps in a dedicated folder for minutes that will be 'public' within Tribe members). Once the file is uploaded, the share button must be selected and the given file path URL used on the website.

Once that URL has been copied from OneDrive, this can be pasted into the text within the website.

1. Login at Dashboard ‹ Tejon Indian Tribe — WordPress

2. Click on 'Posts' on the left hand menu pane

3. Click 'Add New' at the top

4. Enter a heading and content text in the respective boxes for this blog/news post

5. Paste the OneDrive/SharePoint file share link within the body of this post. This will then be clickable by members only (as blog posts can only be seen by logged in Tribe members)

6. (For best practice to ensure this remains entirely hidden from Search Engines), Scroll down to the 'Yoast SEO' section down the screen and see the 'Advanced' tab at the bottom. 

7. Identify 'Allow search engines to show this Post in search results?' and select 'No'

8. Identify 'Should search engines follow links on this Post' and select 'No'

That's the complete process to ensure this remains entirely hidden from Google - the fail safe being that the OneDrive file itself is not indexable by Google.

If she is having issues with the file sharing from OneDrive, I would suggest having one of your Helpdesk Techs take a look - it might be a particular security policy preventing her from sharing files in this way. They will be able to look and see what policies are in place and suggest a workaround. We don't have visibility or control of their 365 tenancy in any way.

Hope the other email was received, realised I'd replied through outlook and not the ticket system.

Removed from the website. Need to host these via alternative means so Google cannot index them. Suggest uploading to 365 and then sharing that URL within the members area of the site or via a members update email.

Added robots.txt rule to stop Google from indexing PDF files uploaded to the site, but there's no guarantee if/when this will take effect. It's optional for Google's bots to recognize that or not.
